Functional, metabolic and toning classes in Finale Ligure

Four types of training, bodyweight or with small equipment: metabolic for stamina and endurance, functional to move better every day, toning to firm up with light weights, and Matilde's Braid, with an elastic braid for toning and stretching. Few people per class, clearly explained exercises and an intensity that adapts to you.

Metabolic training

  • High intensity
  • Adaptable

A circuit workout that alternates strength and cardio exercises with short recovery breaks. The pace is brisk: your heart works, and so do your muscles.

It's demanding on both heart and muscles. With consistency, and alongside a balanced diet, it can help you reduce body fat, stimulate muscle mass and improve cardiovascular endurance.

Who it's for. For anyone who wants a dynamic, all-round workout. Even if you're out of shape you can start: we choose exercises, loads and recovery times to suit your level and increase them gradually.

In the timetable it's called Metabolico. Class timetable

Functional training

  • Full body
  • All levels

Exercises based on everyday movements: bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, rotating. Training them helps your body become stronger and readier for daily life, from carrying the shopping to a day out on the bike.

Every class is full body, using your own body weight or versatile equipment. We choose loads and variations to match your condition, to help you build a more toned body and feel more confident in the way you move.

In the timetable it's called Functional training. The circuits also include the Matilde's Braid elastic braid.

Equipment

  • Kettlebells
  • Dumbbells
  • TRX Suspension
  • Ankle weights
  • Elastic bands
  • TheraBand
  • Weight ball
  • Matilde's Braid

For kettlebell work, the studio has two instructors with specific training: Sabina (Kettlebell Trainer, level 1) and Gioele (Kettlebell Trainer, level 1). About us

Toning

  • Light weights
  • All levels

A circuit with light weights and controlled repetitions, working all the main muscle groups. Calm and precise, with no jumping and no heavy loads.

It helps firm up your muscles and improve tone and endurance. A good choice to get moving again or to complement other activities.

Who it's for. For every starting level, including people who haven't trained for a while.

In the timetable it's called Tone & Shape. Class timetable

Matilde's Braid training

A different kind of workout

  • Elastic braid
  • Toning and stretching

It's not a resistance band. It's not a strap. It's an elastic braid designed for toning and muscle-stretching workouts.

With the Matilde's Braid you can do exercises from very different types and styles of programme: from toning to Pilates, functional work and metabolic training.

What does this workout give you?

  • Strength
  • A more stable core
  • Balance
  • Mobility and flexibility
  • A lighter mind

Taught by Sabina, who has completed the Matilde's Braid course.

Who it's for. For everyone, younger people included: it's less intense than the other workouts, so you can join whatever your level.

How it works. 50-minute classes, in a group or, on request, as a private session. The braid is also part of the Functional training circuits and the Pilates Matwork classes. For days and times, message us on WhatsApp.

Metabolic, functional, toning or Matilde's Braid?

Metabolico, Functional training and Tone & Shape share the same goal, toning and shaping your body: what changes is how the class is set up, with more or less cardio. Matilde's Braid is the gentlest. If you're unsure, we'll choose together at your first session.

Training FAQs

I haven't exercised for years. Can I start?

Yes. Metabolico, Functional training and Tone & Shape adapt to your starting level, and Matilde's Braid, which is less intense, is suitable for everyone. At your first session you tell us how long it's been and whether anything hurts, and we suggest where to begin.

What if I can't keep up with the group?

No problem: in a small group everyone works with their own load and variations. You can slow down, stop and start again. No judgement, no comparisons.

Do you also offer one-to-one sessions?

Yes. As well as small groups, we run private sessions for one person or for two people together. They're built around you and can combine training, Pilates and postural work. You'll find everything on the Personal training page.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothes, grip socks (we train barefoot) and a bottle of water. There are changing rooms and showers, so bring what you need if you'd like a shower. To attend, you need a medical certificate for non-competitive sport (certificato medico non agonistico).

How many times a week should I train?

It depends on your goals and how much time you have. We'll talk about it at your first session and find a frequency you can keep up, because consistency matters more than intensity. You'll find the class timetable on the Contact page.
