How we work at Body Zone

A few principles, always the same: listen before training, work in small groups, adapt every exercise and progress gradually. Including on the Reformer with dumbbells and kettlebells, where we follow the RYB Academy method.

Our principles

  • Listening

Before we suggest an exercise we want to know who you are: how you feel, what you enjoy, what worries you, where you want to get to.

  • Small groups

Few people per class (no more than 4 on the Reformer), so your instructor really has time to watch and correct you.

  • Adapted exercises

In the same group everyone has their own version of the exercise: simpler, more intense, more cautious. That way everyone works at their own level.

  • Progression

We increase loads and difficulty one step at a time, only when the movement is safe and controlled.

RYB Academy, simply explained

RYB Academy is the method we follow for Reformer classes with dumbbells and kettlebells. In practice it brings two worlds together: the precision and control of Pilates, and the strength work of functional training.

It rests on three principles:

  • Correct technique. First you learn to do the movement well, then we add the weight.
  • Safety. Loads and variations chosen for your condition, always under your instructor's eye.
  • Tailored progression. You move up a level based on your progress, not on a plan that's the same for everyone.

You need some Reformer experience for these classes: if you've never used the Reformer, you start with the basics and the weights come later. Your instructor is Sabina, who has completed the RYB Academy Reformer & Kettlebell course.

Born within Belli dalla Testa ai Piedi

Body Zone was born within Belli dalla Testa ai Piedi, a beauty and wellbeing centre that has been part of Finale Ligure for many years. It shares the same spirit: listening first, being professional while staying human, and making everyone feel at home from the very first moment.

"We don't promise miracles. We promise care, attention and work done properly."

Belli dalla Testa ai Piedi

That's why you won't find promises of results in a few weeks. You'll find people who follow you closely and a place with no room for judgement or comparison.
